knitting socks-technique

My name is Kayla b. I just wanted to post this in case that there isn’t a sock pattern out there like the one in the picture.

Materials:

Patons-Kroy socks wool/ acrylic yarn

“9” inch circular knitting needles

Tapestry needle

Long circular needles

Directions:( for medium sized socks)

CO 68 st leave about 5 inches of a long tale. this is going to be new here,

Cuff-

knit 1, purl 1 up until about 3 inches of the cuff/ purl 2 knit 2 of the cuff either way. Make sure no twists on your needle.

Leg-

Knit 6 inches of your leg with p2 k2 until you’ve reached 6 inches with a tape measure. Or desired length.

Gussett-

Turn to wrongside and purl on 16 stitches. Turn your work around to the right side and k1 skip 2 knit all the way to the end. Do this back and forth; for about 24-26 rows. Without changing to (dpn). Start to add the front extra stitches to your needle and knit to connect. Work once win the round then back to p2 knit2. 5-6 inches.

Foot-

Measure your foot with p2 knit 2. Place your stitch marker from your long tail. Then knit all the way around from your stitch marker.

Toe decrease-

Knit1 skip 2 knit all the way til last 3 stitch markers til last three stitches. Skip 2 knit one. Onto #2 stitch marker. Repeat until measured foot length.

Magic loop/ switching needles-

slip on your stitches after your desired length at 24 stitches. Continue to work in the toe decrease until 8 stitches are left. Take your tapestry needle and use it to knit1 and purl 1 all the way across. Don’t pull too tight or too loose.

FYI Don’t forget your tapestry needle and a magic loop bigger circular needle cast on.

Shazam there is your first sock.

I will post pictures here. ASAP I will take pics soon of the pair of socks.
